Pakistan’s chase was a rollercoaster, beginning disastrously as they were reduced to 17/3. Taskin Ahmed and Nahid Rana wreaked havoc on the top order, dismissing Sahibzada Farhan, Maaz Sadaqat, and Mohammad Rizwan cheaply.

Amidst the chaos, Salman Ali Agha rose to the occasion, playing a magnificent innings of 106 off 98 balls. He stitched together crucial partnerships with debutant Saad Masood and later with captain Shaheen Afridi, keeping Pakistan in contention.

The match went down to the wire with 14 runs needed off the final six balls. Rishad Hossain held his nerve and executed a stumping to dismiss Shaheen Afridi on the last ball, securing the 11-run victory for Bangladesh. Taskin Ahmed’s four-wicket haul, including the crucial wicket of Salman Agha in the 48th over, proved decisive in the final outcome.

Tanzid Hasan Tamim was named Player of the Match for his composed and impactful century. Reflecting on his innings, he said:

“It was a very important series for me. I tried to be cautious in the first 10 overs. The ball was holding a bit later, which made it hard for new batters to score. I always try to time the ball rather than hit hard. The team management backed me throughout, which really helped.”

Pakistan captain Shaheen Afridi praised his team despite the loss, stating:

“The team tried till the end. The youngsters stepped up and gave their best. Salman Agha is an all-format player and has been performing consistently for Pakistan. It was my business to try, but credit goes to the way Bangladesh bowled in the death overs. We need more hard work and fitness across all three departments.”

The match showcased the depth and resilience of both teams. Bangladesh’s strong batting and clinical death bowling secured a memorable win, while Pakistan’s spirited fight, led by Salman Ali Agha, ensured a thrilling contest right up to the final delivery.
